CALVARY HOSPITAL/RIVERINA CANCER CARE CENTRE
WAGGA WAGGA
(2007-Current)
An integral part of the Calvary campus is the Riverina Cancer Care Centre developed by the Riverina Cancer Care Centre Trust from donations from the Riverina region.
The Cancer Care Centre provides radiotherapy and chemotherapy from a facility that comprises:
- Two radiotherapy bunkers
- CT planning
- 11 place chemotherapy unit
- Consulting suites for specialist oncologists.
The site topography and relationship to the existing Hospital has resulted in the bunkers being located at ground level above undercroft parking. This is the first radiotherapy facility in Australia to be located above ground level making it possible to provide natural light and views to the outside in the waiting areas adjacent to the bunkers.
